Rick Unger Color is a free lance mobile color grading suite for when and wherever you need color.
Color grading has never been as exciting of a discipline as today. The amount of creative tools for color grading has rendered efficient and beautiful results. It is still a passion of Rick's to create moods for images that are dynamic and interesting.
Even as a fetus, Rick dreamt of becoming a colorist....
BIO
Inspiration for color came at the start of Rick’s career while working at a motion picture film lab rat. There he learned that film is a physical medium, and if inspected with a loupe you can see the strata of images stacked on layers. Shine light through film and the projection becomes the magic of color.
There he moved onto learn to transfer images on motion picture film to video using a telecine and how to change the color and tone creating moods.
As technology grew to software-based non linear color/editing systems, Rick was on the forefront being one of the first in the midwest to use nonlinear color grading software.
Today’s cameras shoot much more than film. There are a wide variety of complicated video and file based cameras used for cinematography. Rick has worked closely with these formats and provided efficient post production workflows.
